We are Just Friends: Ram Charan's Love Interest

Bollywood leading actress Priyanka Chopra spoke for the first time about her upcoming film 'Zanjeer' with Ram Charan. She is playing Cherry's love interest, reprising the role of Jaya Bachchan in this remake. Claiming to be a huge fan of Amitabh Bachchan, Priyanka asserted that she alone will do all the remakes of the Legendary Actor. She acted in the flms 'Don', 'Agneepath' and now in 'Zanjeer' too, all of them are the remakes of Big B superhits. When quizzed about her crackling chemistry with Ram Charan on the sets of Zanjeer, Priyanka clarified that both of them are just friends. Rajamouli Vs RGV- What's Cooking?

Ram Gopal Varma is one man who doesn't believe in relationships and he often maintains that it is all about need and want between two human beings. However, it appears that even this man has got a soft spot for another man. That is the tough taskmaster S S Rajamouli. Apparently, few interesting set of conversations have been happening between Ramu and Rajamouli on Twitter network and it is looking clearly that both have formed a mutual admiration club. While Ramu in his usual style keeps exaggerating about Rajamouli's works, the tough taskmaster in his usual style keeps responding in his humble style. The Tollywood folks say that though Ramu is not as successful as before, he has been the inspiration for many talented moviemakers and has given a new life to many actors and technicians. So, even someone like Rajamouli might have respect for RGV. We have to see the conversation if RGV too scores a blockbuster in near future.

Public demand before 'Amazing Spiderman'

The new version of Spiderman is out in theatres across India and is running successfully. Titled 'Amazing Spiderman', the film has become an instant hit with youth and now they are having some demands for 'spidy'. Youths are now discussing what Spiderman can do in India, if he comes to either Delhi or Mumbai. Other than swinging across tall buildings, 'spidy' can help them from watching stupid movies, feel few guys. They say that if Spiderman can tie the hands of Ram Gopal Varma with his web rope, then the maker might sit silent without making any movies further. With all his recent movies becoming bombs and head breakers, he became one of the important assignments for Spiderman. Though this is a big joke on RGV by using Spiderman as a placard, the maker should realize how importance people give to him. There are many other flop makers in India, but none of them are getting cared like the way they do for him. Will RGV realize this?

'Don't insult S-Films, I'll cut off your Heads'

This is not a dialogue from those regular formulaic Telugu faction movies. Veteran director Dasari has uttered this emotional dialogue today, giving a warning to all those producers, directors and distributors who look down small budgeted movies. Presiding at the 100 days function of most successful small budgeted movie 'Ee Rojullo', Dasari has made these comments. 'For all those people who look down chinna cinema, this is an eye opener. Next time, if anyone dares to insult a small budgeted flick, I'll cut off their head', Dasari said. 'Chinna cinemanu chinna choopu choosey vaarandariki idhi kanu vippu. Ee saari evaraina chinna cinemani egathaali chestey vaallani nenu narikesta' 'You (read theatre-syndicate) have all theatres under your iron hand. At all centres, your blessings are required to get theatre. I'll fight against these atrocities soon', the veteran director added. Surprisingly, Dasari stated that 'Julayi' movie is also not getting theatres at some towns due to the 'theatre syndicate mafia'. Dasari's owned 'Siri Media' is the distributor of this Allu Arjun starrer. We wonder who is that 'person' stopping Allu Arjun's movie, with his father Arvind being one of the top distributor in state!

Tollywood Hits & Flops in First Half 2012

The First half of 2012 for Tollywood has been with great flying colors. There has been some good times in Tollywood with significant hit films this time. The biggest boost for Tollywood 2012 has been in the form of ‘Gabbar Singh’. This is a registered blockbuster and it is racing towards the second highest grosser with Rs 65 crores share. The film has been declared a unanimous hit from all centers. Next in the list is ‘Businessman’ which also score a raging success.Arriving as a Sankranthi treat, the film rocked the box office thanks to Mahesh Babu mania and resulted with more than forty crores share. This result came irrespective of the talk on the film. The same trend was followed by ‘Racha’ which was released in a massive way and being a commercial subject, the masses gave a thumbs up. Despite slamming by critics, the film struck a chord with the common man and it raked in a whopping Rs 45 crores share. There were two other hits that made their mark in the form of ‘Poola Rangadu’ and ‘Ishq’. These two flicks proved that audience would come not just for star heroes but also for good subject and entertainment filled projects. Another surprising observation that came to light is, films don’t need a noted face to score a hit. This was proved by two small budget flicks in the form of 'Lovely', ‘Ee Rojullo’ and ‘Oka Romantic Crime Katha’. These films were made targeting the youth and scored success. This will encourage many to experiment with this genre and more films will come. Of course, not all was happy smiles for the Tollywood folks. There were some massive duds that came in proving that if the subject and content is not good then the result also will not be good. The best example for that is the Ravi Teja- Gunasekhar venture ‘Nippu’. This is the biggest disaster of 2012. Following the suit was Balakrishna who has registered massive duds to his account. He added one more to his kitty by coming up with ‘Adhinayakudu’. There are few other flops but these two are the biggest and sizeable ones. Same has been the case with the dubbed flicks which come in large numbers. The likes of ‘Snehitudu’ ‘3’ ‘Love Failure’ ‘Dhoni’ were given thumbs down by the audience. In the dubbed market, except for the Hollywood flick ‘Avengers’ none of the others worked. The latest release ‘Sakuni’ opened with decent collections but the talk has not been that strong so it is going a bit dull. Movies like ‘Bodyguard’ ‘Dammu’ ‘Daruvu’ ‘Endukante Premanta’ took off with a disaster talk but at the end, they managed to come up with some decent figures as collections. With 2012 first half looking encouraging, Tollywood is now looking towards the second half with optimism. There are some really promising projects lined up for release. The list includes movies like ‘Eega’ ‘Julaayi’ ‘Devudu Chesina Manushulu’ ‘Seetamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu’ ‘Damarukam’ ‘Cameraman Ganga Tho Rambabu’ ‘Rebel’ ‘Uu Kodathara Ulikki Padathara’ ‘Shadow’ ‘Autonagar Surya’ ‘Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum’ ‘Vaaradhi’ ‘Srimannarayana’ ‘Tuneega Tuneega’ and others. Let us wish that at least half of them shake the box office of Tollywood and create a sensation.

She is called as the yummy mummy and though she hails from Bollywood, she has made her mark in south due to her spicy item songs. Recently she came up with one in the blockbuster hit 'Gabbar Singh' too and it turned out to be a crazy hit. We are talking about Malaika Arora Khan and here is some update. It is heard that Malaika has been approached by the Delhi traffic police for a special road show. This is to create awareness among the ladies of Delhi to curb their speeds while they are driving. Lately, the Delhi traffic police is having a tough time controlling the ladies who are driving fast. Sources say Malaika's 'road show' will be planned to get the maximum attention. However, there are those who are asking how can a spicy item bombshell deliver the required message to the ladies. Anyways, the show looks confirmed and the outcome of that will be known once it is done.

Upcoming Hero Dropped Production Plans

When we are trying to establish ourselves in a particular trade in film industry, we should not get associated with something else. Better late than never, our hero realized this. Sharwanand is one talented guy who is remembered for his performance in 'Gamyam' and 'Prasthanam'. If he times his presence in tinsel town with interesting scripts and hit movies, definitely he will reach places in the days to come. All of a sudden, Sharwa was heard showing extreme interest towards producing a flick. Film Nagar sources revealed that he has already took an office for that and the work too started. However, it is now heard that he kept that project on a backburner as he got some meaty offers. A couple of Tamil commitments and other Telugu films are keeping him busy. A close source to the hero says that Sharwanand has dropped plans for now as he is having handful of films. Maybe if those entire movies click, he will not turn to own production in the next five years, the source added. Let's hope he will get the best.

Telugu Villian Catches Pulse But Not Purse

This 40 year actor has risen to stardom in Tollywood after his perfect villainess in super hit film 'Arundathi'. The handsome hunk proved his mettle in Bollywood too and has now come up with 'Maximum' effort to settle as hero in Hindi circuit. Sonu Sood has donned the role of hero in his maiden production venture 'Maximum' that released today. The film is the story of two cops who struggle with each other for power. We have seen many such stories earlier and such movies should be narrated with exciting screenplay and conviction. While Sonu outsmarted all other actors in the movie with his performance, the film failed to satisfy viewers. Except for the 'Aa ante amalapuram' item song that got curvy Hazel sexposing her hot body, the film is not a meaty one. Critics are saying that Sonu Sood managed to catch the pulse of audience with his performance but might find it difficult to catch their purse for collections. Let us wait for a week to know the actual verdict about the fate of our 'Aghora'.

Six-Pack Bug Bites Top South Heroine

Not only heroes, heroines are also hitting gyms these days to tone down their abs and crunch their curves to impress urban audiences. But skin tight bellies should be supported by desirable face too. During the times of 'Shivaji', we have seen Shriya sweating out with machines to get that punched waist look. But the glow on her face is completely lost. Same is the case with Nayantara when she worked a six-pack like structure with her waist for Vishal's 'Salute'. Now, this bug has bitten petite beauty Trisha who is not signing any Telugu movie regarding this cause. She is on strict diet and spending 4 hours in workouts to get tight waist and curvature. Already, Trisha is being banged in Film circles for looking like an aunty. Unlike those other beauties, Trisha's main asset is her face and then comes her assets. If she spoils the vigour of that with these six-pack efforts, then sky will look black for her in Tollywood.

Kajal Relieved From Three Heroes Torture

Pretty babe Kajal Agarwal is the only real busiest star heroine in South with almost four movies on the sets at present. The seductress is now relieved from the torture of three heroes, it seems. Kajal is doing the shoot of three films back to back at the moment. Along with Ramcharan-Vinayak's movie, she is doing the shoot of Tamil star hero Surya's 'Maatran', Vijay's 'Tuppakki'. These three heroes are known for their perfection and professionalism, who don't waste a single minute during shoot. Generally working with them will be a torture for other artists who are habituated to taking rests. Now with 'Maatran' USA shoot getting cancelled, Kajal got complete rest for the next days. Is this not a relief from torture for the sizzling siren? Closes sources of Kajal are not accepting this. They say that she is also a workaholic who don't like to spend time chatting on sets. Apart from the above three flicks, she is a party of Mahesh-Sukumar movie and Raviteja's 'Sir Ostaara' too!

Clash between Nag and Ravi Teja

Clashes and rivalries between big heroes is quite normal but of course in Tollywood the rivalries are more healthy and competitive. There are times when the fans go overboard and tend to create confusion but most of the times the stars in the big league tend to maintain harmony. However, it is heard that one clash of sorts is happening between King Nagarjuna and Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja. Well, this has to do with a Tamil project starring the big hero Ajith. This is being directed by Vishnuvardhan of 'Panjaa' fame. It is heard that the team is in a fix. Buzz is that Ajith's new film will be having a Tollywood star in a very powerful guest role and they are not able to decide whether to take Nag or Ravi Teja. The idea is to release the film in Telugu as well through the dubbed format. Who do you think makes a better choice folks?

Delhi Babe's Lose Is Rajole Beauty's Gain

A bit of luck is needed to create storm in tinsel town and that is what happening to our Telugu beauty hailing from Rajole town of Andhra Pradesh. Certainly a Delhi babe has opted out of a big commercial project paving way to this talented actress. Perky seductress Tapsee cited clash of dates to opt from a Tamil movie that stars Vishal. However, the role is a second heroine aimed at creating commercial targets for the movie. Now, talented and smoking hot Telugu beauty Anjali is roped in this role. Earlier too, Anjali used the opportunity to star in 'Journey' when Tapsee showed no interest in that project. Right now, this hot East Godavari girl who is rejected by Tollywood in the initial days is a happening starlet in Tamil circuit. She is having half a dozen of films in her kitty with one major Telugu project 'Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu'.

Why Fading Music Directors Get 'Paithyam'?

Many music directors who rule the roost for a couple of years and fade out later are getting struck with 'paithyam' it seems. They can neither produce better albums nor appreciate better works. The other day popular music director RP Patnaik has mentioned that 2012 haven't witnessed any good music album yet. Has he not heard 'Businessman' or 'Gabbar Singh' songs? Tunes from these two flicks need no mentioning about their hit status. Reports say that their digital revenue like caller tunes and mobile downloads has crossed a crore by now. Many a times, another talented composer KM Radhakrishnan also stated that music is losing power these days. Critics are asking why cannot these two people come and save the industry if at all they feel that music is sinking here. Off course, it has become a phenomenon for Telugu Film Industry to see out of the frame directors commenting on story-screenplay and music directors on tunes. A piece of advice is always good, but no one will be interested in sarcastic comments.

Senior Heroine's Love For Tamil Thambis

Only those veteran heroines who want to launch their daughters as heroines are knocking the doors of Tollywood. For all those other works, they generally prefer other places and here is another example. Veteran actress Jayaprada is now planning to test her luck in tinsel town as a producer. One should wonder that she is not producing any Telugu flick for that. Instead she is making a movie for Tamil thambis, where she will be launching her nephew Siddharth as a hero. This film is nothing but a remake of Telugu hit movie 'Ishq' that featured Nitin and Nitya Menon. To ensure proper success, she is showing immense love on Tamil folks by making her presence felt in Chennai for any small function. Though Jayaprada is a successful heroine in Tollywood for a long time, she never showed proper interest in AP whether to become a politician earlier or a producer now. Her political stunt took a U-turn miserably and we have to see what happens to her film stunt now.

Why RGV scolded Pawan's Director?

Maverick filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma is not the one to mince words. Few months back, an interesting conversation took place between RGV and Pawan's Gabbar Singh director Harish Shankar. Both RGV and Harish share and great rapport. It was RGV who made him a director with the film 'Shock'. After coming to know that Harish was roped in for Gabbar Singh, RGV scolded the director for taking a risky step of remaking Bollywood blockbuster Dabangg and that to when directing a star like Pawan Kalyan the expectations will reach new heights. Harish Shankar who is basking on the success of Gabbar Singh has revealed this secret in one of his recent interview. In fact, Ramu feared that Harish would land in trouble. But from Day 1, Harish was very confident about the film and delivered his best. Harish arranged a special screening of Gabbar Singh for RGV after the release of the film. Ramu was in full of praise for the young director who made many changes in the script to suit the taste of the Tollywood audience and for showing Powerstar in the way people love to see him. With Gabbar Singh, Harish Shankar has become one of the most sought after directors in Tollywood. RGV-Harish's episode is a best example to show that we shouldn't underestimate anyone!

Can Jagan pull off this Mega Heist?

Who is the fastest filmmaker in Tollywood today? It is Puri Jagannadh without an iota of doubt. Puri who is already miles ahead of the contemporary directors in terms of speed is setting the bar even higher in the coming days. After making Businessman movie in less than three months, Puri has wrapped up Devudu Chesina Manushulu at a breathtaking speed. He announced in advance that his next film, Cameraman Gangatho Rambabu, starring Pawan Kalyan, will release on October 18. After this Puri Jagan will make a film with Allu Arjun in the lead. This film will be launched on October 18 and will release on December 21 this year. It needs a superman for making films at this speed in the modern times. Puri is simply whizzing off without a hint of tiredness. If he could really pull off Allu Arjun's film as per above plan, we have to agree that he has done a mega feat. Why because it will take his releases count this year to four and all of them with big stars. When Rajamouli is taking two years per film and the directors like Srinu Vytla, Vinayak, Boyapati and others are taking at least a year each, we don't think that someone could challenge Puri in pace. Making small films with lesser known actors at this speed is next to impossible, let alone star studded films. Hats off to Jagan, the missile!
